FAQ

Are there any fees or commission?

Yes — 3% in total on each cash gift or payment. About 2% is Flutterwave's payment-processing fee and 1% is hepa's platform commission. It is deducted automatically by Flutterwave before the money settles; the rest goes straight to the church's or organisation's own verified bank account. hepa never holds church money.

Who pays the 3%?

It is taken from the gift before settlement, so a ₦10,000 gift settles about ₦9,700 to the organisation. The giver pays only the amount they choose.

Can I give items instead of money?

Yes. Choose “Item / non-cash” on the Give page, or answer a project announcement with an item. Every gift on hepa is shown as Cash or Item.

What is a vow?

A private promise you record in your planner. Your church is told nothing until you pay it (cash) or tell them you're ready to deliver it (items).

My payment shows “Pending”

Some payment methods (e.g. bank transfer, USSD) take a few minutes to confirm. hepa re-checks with Flutterwave automatically. Do not pay twice — open your receipt page later to see the confirmed status.

I was charged but no receipt was issued

Open your donations. If the status is “Under review”, our finance team is reconciling it with Flutterwave and will update it.

Why can't I give to my church?

Giving only opens after a church completes full verification. Ask your pastor to register the church on hepa.

Who can read my Contact Pastor or Macedonian Call message?

Only the church's lead pastor and pastoral team members they assign. Church finance or communications staff and hepa staff cannot read it.
